    Prof. Dr. Vinod Kumar (Additional Director)

    Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar

    Prof. Vinod Kumar is a Professor of Law and the former Director, Centre for Human Rights and Subaltern Studies at NLU Delhi. Prof. Kumar has been a Member of the United Nations’ Expert Committee on Global Manual on Counter- Terrorism. Prof. Kumar has an international fellowship; he is a Visiting Research Fellow to National University of Singapore (NUS).

    • University of Sao Paulo (Brazil),
    • Beijing Normal University (China),
    • Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at Lagos (Nigeria)
    • South Eastern University (Sri Lanka).

    Prof. Kumar is Ph.D. in Law (JMI), LL.M. (D.U.) LL.B. (D.U.) and UGC -NET Qualified. Prof. Kumar did PGD in Victimology from Tokiwa International Institute of Victimology (Japan) in collaboration with World Society of Victimology. Prof. Kumar also did PGD in International Human Rights, Humanitarian and Refugee Law from Indian Academy of International Law, New Delhi. Prof. Kumar is a member of World Victimology Society and also a Life Member of Indian Society of Criminology.

    Before joining academics Prof. Kumar practiced as an Attorney for six years in High Court of Delhi. He also worked as a Legal Researcher for a year with a civil society organization. Prof. Kumar joined Faculty of Law, University of Delhi as Assistant Professor in 2007. He joined National Law University Delhi in May, 2009. There are thirteen published papers of national and international repute and two books to his credit. Prof. Kumar has also presented dozens of research papers in national and international conferences, seminars, workshops and symposia. Prof. Kumar is widely travelled across the continents and having a wide exposure of trans-jurisdictional academics and research.
